Got to spend the weekend in NYC helping to celebrate my friend Kerry's bachelorette weekend. Nothing like spending a few days dining, spa-ing, and catching up with cool ladies.

Top recommendations from the weekend:

Mi Cocina - fabulous Mexican food in the Village on Jane Street
Gourmet Garage - great cheeses and treats
Jones Day Spa - nice spa, wish the 'water features' had been turned on, would have liked to plunge pools but they are getting permitted still

Also had the first time experience taking the subway to JFK on my trip home. While I was skeptical with the weekend trains, it turned out to be a great option without the stress of waiting on the freeway in a cab. I took the E and picked up the AirTran near the end of the line. From Mid-Town to JFK in 1.5 hours - during crazy Sunday traffic. Plus it only cost $7.

Hi, Bear... hmmmm..didn't know I was supposed to be "bloggin' back" to ya! Glad you had fun in NYC with Kerry etal. Quite the city. We had fun last Thanksgiving visiting Pedro Escobar! Sorry we missed your tennis match, but had to be home by 8pm.... how'd you do? Justin? We'll watch the next ones! Eliz and Norman arrive this afternoon then go to party with Ty and Henriette.
